É por estas e por outras que eu adoro mesas de doces!... Olhem-me este trabalho fantástico publicado hoje no blog Ruffled (um dos meus favoritos, by the way), onde nos podemos aperceber, pelos créditos, da quantidade de pessoas envolvidas nesta produção e no excelente resultado final! 

Eu adoro o toque vintage deste tipo de decoração de mesas, os bolos de aspecto caseiro, a mistura de cores e de texturas, com aqueles cake-stands a fazerem roer-me de inveja!... Mas é uma inveja boa!! :-)

It's because of dessert tables like this that I like event styling so much! Look at this wonderful job featured today in one of my favorite blogs, Ruffled. In this production, one does realize how much work is involved and how many people participate in such a lovely job!

I love everything vintage, especially where dessert tables are concerned, and I absolutely love these cakes, the colors and texture, nothing too matchy-matchy... and those beautiful cake-stands that I would die for!!... :-)

Não me lembro onde foi que vi os brincos e colares da Tamar pela primeira vez. Só sei que a sua loja no Etsy ficou memorizada nas minhas favoritas e foi agora, à procura de ideias de decoração, que voltei a deliciar-me com as suas medalhas e flores... Para além das orelhas, imagino outros sítios onde estes brincos podem brilhar.

A Tamar Schechner tem uma empresa de decoração em Vermont e dedica-se igualmente à criação destas belezas, assim como ao seu blog, que vale a pena visitar.

I can't remember where I saw Tamar's creations for the first time. I can only tell you that her Etsy store remained one of my favorites and today, while looking for creative decoration ideas, I stumbled upon these lovely earrings, that I imagine using not only in my ears but also with other decorative purposes...

Tamar Schechner has a design and decoration firm in Vermont and besides that, she also creates these beauties and writes on her blog, which is worth visiting.

Olá! Espero que estejam a ter um óptimo Sábado. Hoje aproveitei para tirar umas fotos de algumas peças que estou a juntar para o meu aniversário. Ainda falta definir muita coisa e tenho andado com pouca motivação... Será o cair da folha do Outono ou são mesmo os 40 anos a aproximarem-se? :-)

There's still a long way to go and I haven't been feeling really motivated... maybe it's because of the arrival of Autumn or maybe it's just because I'm turning 40! :-)

A Ashley Meaders faz coisas mesmo lindas! Designer, stylist e crafter, esta organizadora de casamentos da Georgia tem um site giríssimo e faz coisas lindas de morrer para festas de casamento. Não, não me vou casar outra vez!! Mas, como adoro decorações de tecto, quis mostrar-vos esta, que chamou a minha atenção (e, já agora, que gostava de ter) - e acho que pode utilizar-se noutras festas que não apenas casamentos.

Quem me quer fazer umas florzinhas destas? Não conheço quem faça disto por cá, e eu gostava de ter destas mãos de oiro!... :-)

Ashley Meaders makes beautiful things. This designer, stylist, crafter and event planner from Georgia does really amazing wedding stuff that you can see on her wonderful site. No, I'm not getting married again!!It's just that I love ceiling decorations and these flowers caught my eye, so I wanted to share it with you.  I also think that we can have a centerpiece like this in other parties besides weddings. 

I wish I had fairy hands and do such beautiful things... Does anyone know how to do it? :-)

Olá a todos! É fim-de-semana e adoro estar em casa, com mais algum tempo para ler e procurar imagens de coisas de que gosto e que me inspiram. Ultimamente, concentro as minhas poucas horas à procura de ideias para a festa dos meus anos e ando às voltas com tanta coisa linda que me passa pela cabeça e a sua adaptação à realidade: o espaço, a logística, os materiais, enfim, uma série de coisas que temos que planear para que no dia não falte nada!

Por isso, hoje deixo-vos com umas imagens de um elemento decorativo que adoro e que acho que faz toda a diferença nos eventos feitos à noite: iluminação com velas. Aqui estão algumas de que gostei.

Hi everyone! It's weekend and I'm happy at home, having a little extra time for researching and reading and also looking for inspirational images. Lately, I spend my free time searching for ideas for my birthday party, as so many things are going through my mind and I have to put them into practise: I need to adapt those ideas to the space, plan all the details, look out for tableware and other bits and pieces...

So today I leave with with these images of candles, which are a decoration item that I really like for night events.

Here are some of the photos of the table that I created for my niece's birthday. They are twins, although Clara is blonde and blue eyed and Teresa has brown eyes and hair! They are sitting on the cake, beautifully made by Francisca!

It's my party!

Aqui ficam alguns pormenores da mesa dos 7 anos das minhas sobrinhas, e que tanto gosto me deu a fazer. São fotografias tiradas do telemóvel, pelo que a qualidade deixa muito a desejar... A jarra de flores também não está como eu queria, mas foi feita a correr, pois os convidados já estavam a chegar! :-) Mas é assim que se aprende a melhorar, depois de ver o trabalho feito e, principalmente, depois de ver as fotos. Tenho de aguardar pelas restantes... Até já!

Just a few details of the table that I did for my niece's birthday. These photos were taken with my cell phone, so their quality is not so good... the vase with the flowers isn't as I wished as well, but I had to make it in a hurry, as the guests were arriving!... :-) But this is how you improve, learning how to plan in advance and looking at the photos - that's when you can see if things work out or not. Well, I have to wait for the other photos!... See you soon!

Hoje escrevo sobre a Blafre, uma marca norueguesa que existe desde 2005 e que vende produtos com um toque retro: papéis de embrulho, caixas de lata, termos, convites, etc. As imagens que anexo são da loja e também da casa dos seus donos, a Ingrid e o Remi: ambas fantásticas! Adoro o pormenor das prateleiras forradas a papel no quarto de criança. Bem, algo me diz que tenho mesmo que conhecer a Noruega um destes dias...

Today I'm writing about Blafre, a norwegian design brand you probably already know. I love their retro products: the lunch boxes, thermoses, greeting cards, everything is lovely! These photos are taken from their shop and also from the home of Ingrid and Remi, the owners of Blafre. I particularly like the white shelves with their gift paper! Well, something tells me I must really get to know Norway one of these days...

Hoje a Holly Becker, do Decor8, fez um artigo sobre um blog que acompanho desde que o conheci através do Fryd+Design (aqui). Não quis deixar de partilhar convosco 5 das ideias que me inspiraram na maravilhosa casa da Ingrid, do blog Fjeldborg (Noruega, uma vez mais...). Até já mandei vir uns papéis-de-parede vintage para a minha próxima casa (quando chegarem, eu mostro!!)! Não vejo a hora de ter uma casa maior!!!

I would like to share with you 5 of the ideias that inspired me most in the lovely home of Ingrid (Fjeldborg - Norway, once again...). Apesar de ser citadina, gosto da calma dos jardins, do sossego do lar e da liberdade que conseguimos sentir quando estamos no campo.
