Easter touch...

Hi everyone! I've been away for a while, I needed to stay away from everything, so I wasn't in the mood for blogging... But here I am, back with some beauties for The Shop ❤, hoping that you like them as much as I do and that you'll use them to decorate your Easter table! I love these Miss Etoile pieces, the pastel colors with the gold touch really make me smile! I still didn't put them on the online shop, as I will have to calculate the shipping costs individually. Splendor in the grass

Ontem lá trouxemos a tão ansiada mesa para o jardim. Comer ao ar livre é um prazer, não concordam? Aproveitamos os saldos e compramos uma mesa que dá para os 4. Eu queria-a redonda, para quebrar com as linhas dos móveis da sala e que são todos rectangulares. Claro que tinha de ser em branco! :)

A minha casa teve algumas obrinhas este ano, fico mesmo feliz! Pusemos um toldo, o que permitiu tirar o guarda-sol do jardim e a base que o suportava (era mesmo sólida e enorme) e, assim, temos mais espaço no estrado, pois não está ali uma peça que o quebra a meio. Hoje de manhã tomamos o pequeno-almoço lá fora, apesar de não estar um sol radiante. Mas adoramos!

Na mesa as chávenas de chá (eu não dispenso um chá de manhã) e algumas das minhas loiças favoritas...

Expliquem-me, por favor: por que é que gostamos tanto de comer ao ar livre?

Yesterday we finally brought home the table for the garden that we have been wanting for so long. Eating in the garden is such a pleasure, don't you agree? We got a nice white and round table in the sales - I wanted it round to change the main lines of furniture of the living room - they're all rectangular. And of course it had to be in white! :) 

We've managed to make some changes in our home this year, and that makes me really happy! We now have an canvas awning and that way we don't use the sun umbrella any more. It had such a huge and sturdy holder that it almost divided the floor in two! Today we had breakfast in the garden, even though the sun wasn't shining that much. We loved it anyway!

Can you please explain me why people love to have meals on the outside?

Sunday morning

Domingo de manhã e, apesar de me deitar tarde e das meninas ainda estarem a dormir, eu já não consigo descansar mais. Por isso, venho aqui aproveitar o tempo livre e escrever o meu o post semanal, dando-vos conta das minhas andanças, um pouco para além do Facebook, que acaba por ser o meu quick blog durante a semana...

Já vos tinha dito que tenho andando (uma vez mais, é certo) a redecorar o meu pequeno espaço. Desenganem-se aqueles que pensam que é mais rápido decorar uma casa pequena, pois a noção de espaço e de equilíbrio não é, pelo menos para mim, intuitiva. E por vezes cometemos erros, sendo certo também que mudamos os gostos, o que eu acho óptimo! Foi assim que, ao longo dos último anos, fui aprendendo algumas técnicas de ilusionismo decorativo e tento sempre aumentar este pequeno sítio com o recurso a muito branco, espelhos e móveis com as dimensões correctas. A minha sala tem mais luz e mais espaço. E tem um aparador novo. And that makes me happy!

Aqui nas fotos, grande destaque para o aparador - cheio de pratinhos e cake-stands lá dentro! :) Ontem não consegui muito mais do que isto, pois estavam cá 3 amigas da Carlota e eu tinha que lhes pedir constantemente para sairem da frente da objectiva. Não liguem muito para a decoração em cima do móvel, pois ainda não parei para pensar e decidir o que lá quero por. Para já, claro, pois gosto de ir variando...

 

 

 

Depois andei a experimentar as cores para a festa de aniversário da Carlota e continuo indecisa... Quem quiser dar a sua opinião, já sabe, é muito bem-vinda!

E finalmente mostro-vos o papel-de-parede vintage que comprei para forrar o hall de entrada. Espero que gostem dele tanto quanto eu. :)

Sunday morning and I can't sleep any longer, although I went to bed very late last night and the girls are still asleep. So I'm coming here in this free time for my weekly post, besides the Facebook page where I actually quick blog during the week...

I've already told you quite a few times that I am redecorating my living room, as I'm always looking for ways to give this small home the illusion of a bigger space. I've learned along the way that we always make mistakes in terms of decor and our taste changes - hopefully always for the better, as we get to see lots of beautiful houses and get inspired by it. Some of the decoration tricks that I've learned are pretty basic - such as mirrors for space and light reflection, lots of whites in small spaces and correct dimensions of furniture, as large pieces don't fit rightly in tiny rooms. I always have a problem with Ikea furniture, as I need made by measure more often, to try to take advantage of every little corner...

My living room seems bigger, has more light and a new sideboard. And that makes me happy! :)

Here in the photos, a great feature to the sideboard - full of plates and cake-stands on the inside! :) But these were the only pictures that I've managed to take, as Carlota had 3 of her friends sleeping over so I had to keep asking them to get away from the camera. Also the display isn't definite, as I still haven't thought much on how to decorate it. And I like to change things often, so no one knows how the sideboard will look on the next photos! 

I also experimented with colors for Carlota's birthdat party, I'm not still very sure on what to do. Opinions are more than welcome!

And finally I'm showing you the vintage wallpaper that I bought for my home entrance - I hope you like it as much as I do.

DJ in the house

Depois de uma semana de trabalho intenso, consigo vir aqui estar convosco e mostrar-vos mais algumas das pequenas mudanças em minha casa, se bem que fico sempre um pouco descontente com as fotos, pois a luz não é das melhores... A minha casa sofreu bastantes alterações desde que me casei, pois a entrada de mais uma pessoa no pequeno apartamento, com a sua logística de DJ (ou seja, centenas de discos em vinil mais aparelhagens), tornou bastante difícil o aproveitamento do espaço. Os discos tiveram que ficar na sala e, esteticamente, nunca corresponderam àquilo com que eu tinha sonhado... Lá conseguimos arranjar a melhor solução possível e ontem lembrei-me de tapar o móvel com este tecido antigo que tinha pensado utilizar numas almofadas. Não consigo deixar de me rir quando vejo esta foto, pois imagino o Rui no meio das florzinhas, com um booth totalmente efemeninado! Já lhe propus pintar as colunas... já esteve mais longe! :)

Mostro-vos ainda o resultado final da pintura desta peça aqui, que ainda não pendurei na parede. Ainda me falta pintar outros pássaros, mas não decidi em que cor, por isso vou aguardar para depois pô-los todos em conjunto. Gosto tanto de pássaros na parede!! Esta árvore fica linda pintada, não fica?

After a hard work's week, here I am with you at last, to show you some more small changes in my home, although I'm a little sad with the photos quality, as the light isn't that great... My apartment suffered great changes when I got married, as my husband is a DJ and that means that he carries along with him hundreds of vinyl records and all the music equipments. The records had to stay in the living room - not what I had planned in terms of decoration, but we've managed to find a solution... So yesterday I decided to experiment and cover the records with this vintage fabric and I can't help smiling when I start imagining Rui playing his records in this feminine booth!... I already proposed him to paint his music columns as well... :)

The second photo is of the trivet that I showed you here - I painted it in light turquoise. I still didn't hang it in the wall, as I have two other birds to place along with it and I still haven't decide in what color I'm going to paint them. I love birds in the walls! The trivet looks cute, doesn't it? :)
